In summer, the Arena di Verona becomes an opera house and seats up to 22 thousand spectators… This is also the city of the great Scaliger princes and Dante, who settled here after being exiled from his native Florence. This is a city that will steal your heart forever. And just 30 km from Verona is the largest and most beautiful lake in Italy – Garda. The lake stretches for 52 km, reaches 16.5 km in width and is up to 346 meters deep. The area of ​​the lake is 370 square kilometers. Since the times of the Roman Empire, representatives of the aristocracy, writers, artists, and musicians loved to relax here. And in our time, tourists from many countries of the world come to this lake for vacation. We will stay in Sirmione. This is the pearl of southern Garda, an ancient town located on an unusually narrow peninsula 4 km long. This is a small town with hotels, beaches, thermal springs, a military fortress of the Scaligeri from the 12th century, the Catullus Grottoes – the ruins of the villa of the poet of ancient Rome – Gaius Valerio Catullus. From here, there are unusually beautiful views of the lake and the foothills of the Alps …
